Thanks to everyone who came to Wednesday’s Street Party Meeting. Please put the date in your diary Sunday 7th June, 2pm onwards.
Like last year, we have applied for a non-commercial Road Closure from Lambeth Council (e.g. nothing can be sold during the day), closing Josephine Avenue between the two ends of Appach Road. JAG will be organising tables and chair for the Street Picnic as well as a Bouncy Castle, Face Painter, Music and DJ.
We are also wanting to repeat the idea of residents celebrating their skills, passions and interests. Here are some suggestions:
GARDENING – Do you have green fingers? Please bring cuttings and seedlings for our plant swap stall.
PHOTOGRAPHY – Perhaps you have some stunning photographs of the street? How about a photo competition to create a JAG Calendar?
PETS – We all love our pets. It would be great if this year we had a pet show, maybe judged by a local vet?
READING – Last year’s book stall proved very popular. Please bring your old books and swap them for new.
ANTIQUES – Got some old things lurking in your attic? Perhaps we could invite a local auction house to come along and give some free evaluations?
ALTERNATIVE HEALTH – How about a chill-out tent. I am sure we could all do with some spiritual calming during the day.
CYCLING – Are you a keen cyclist? Fancy sharing your knowledge with other peddle power enthusiasts?
COMPUTER GEEKS – Know your Facebook, from your Twitter, from your Instagram, from your Pinterest? Share the love.
DANCING DIVAS – Perhaps you know how to line dance, or how to call a Scottish Reel? Take you partner by the hand!
Have some ideas of your own? We want to hear them.
