Plans for our annual street fund raising event Urban Art 2013 are now well under way. The art fair provides affordable exhibition space for artists, a positive community event for residents and fund raising opportunities for local good causes. This year’s partners are the Josephine Avenue Group, Jubilee Primary School, Holy Trinity School and Southside Rehabilitation. Last year we raised over £4,000 and with more visitors this year, and more art, we are hoping to increase this by a substantial amount.
Urban Art 2013 will include the usual fantastic display of work from over 170 painters, printers, photographers and mixed media artists, plus an exciting new Street Art area at the Brixton Hill end of Josephine Avenue which will include 9 graffiti walls, a street café and a full size London Tube Train!
However, for this all to work, we need each partner to supply volunteers, and this includes members of the Josephine Avenue Group. If you can spare a couple of hours on Saturday 14th July please contact Frances Forrest – frances@urbanart.co.uk
