A big thank you to everyone who helped make Urban Art 2013 yet another successful year. This is now our twelfth event and the art fair continues to get better bringing in new visitors to enjoy this unique open air gallery.
The weekend attracted an estimated 8,000 visitors and raised over £4,000 which will be shared between our four charity partners: Jubilee Primary School, JAG, Holy Trinity School and the Southside Rehabilitation project. (Full results from our exhibitors and visitor’s survey can be downloaded by clicking the icons below.)
New to this year was the Street Art Area, organised by Positive Arts, at the Brixton Hill end of Josephine Avenue. This included nine graffiti walls provided by Sainsburys, the Pangea Street Food cafe (thanks to Hayden and Ollie) and our fabulous London Tube Train sponsored by JLT and SumUp (as well as additional support from the Effra Social, White Horse, Keating Estate Agents and our many crowd funders). Fingers crossed we can find permanent storage for the train and repeat this successful addition for Urban Art 2014.
Also new were the children’s workshops organised by David and Robyn of Chat Among the Pigeons, who turned their front garden at number 27 Josephine Avenue into a magical woodland grotto.
Of course the weather was a real help, but the real thanks have to go to all the volunteers who make this event possible. Plans are already underway for next year, 12th and 13th July, so if you want to get involved please contact us via www.urbanart.co.uk or email info@urbanart.co.uk
All the best and thanks again for your support.
