At 6pm on Thursday 28th February Antic London open the doors to their new Brixton boozer, The Effra Social at 89 Effra Road in Brixton (next door, but one, to Hootananny).
Antic London (who also own Brixton’s Dogstar and the recently opened Sun of Camberwell – previously The Sun & Doves on Coldharbour Lane) say The Effra Social will be a family friendly pub that allows children until 9pm & is dog friendly with a garden & restaurant. The opening night will feature DJs spinning a retro selection of Rockabilly, Rock N Roll, Soul and Funk. There will be a free swing dancing class from London’s Lindy hopping Jitterbugs Swing Land (pictured above) and two live sets from 50′s fun-loving trio Conrad & The Atomiks. The opening night schedule is as follows:
6pm – DJ’s
8pm – Conrad & the ATOMIKS
8:15pm – Swing Land start free dance class alongside band
8:45pm – DJ
9:00pm – Conrad & the ATOMIKS
10pm – DJ
12am – Bar Closes
