Following the storms of 1987 residents of the Avenue realised that if we were to keep our street looking special we needed to give it some tender loving care. Our first Street Clean involved a lot of heavy work removing broken branches and fallen leaves, and ever since then we have been tidying up the street on a regular basis.
Not only is it a great way to spruce up the gardens, it is also an enjoyable way to meet your neighbours, discover common goals and get your hands dirty.
The event normally starts at around 10:30am and residents give as much time as they can spare during the day. Skips are positioned in the street and gardening equipment is available from a central pick up point. There is also a much welcomed lunch break with drinks, refreshment and chats with new found friends.
Details of the next Street Clean can be found on the Events Calendar page.
