We may finally be getting our parking consultation.

After years and years of campaigning by residents, Lambeth have finally admitted that the full secondary consultation that was originally promised for our Parking Zone Brixton Hill ‘Q’ did not happen. This evidence will now be sent to the Ombudsman who we hope will decide in our favour and force the council to fully consult the community, as stated it would originally do.

All this hard work by residents seems to have paid off as Brixton Buzz reports this week that Councillor Jenny Braithwaite, Cabinet Member for Environment and Sustainability, has said:

“In response to residents’ long held concerns about parking stress, despite the harsh financial times this council faces, I am determined to find ways to address residents’ concerns about parking stress. It was therefore decided that a borough wide feasibility study of parking should be undertaken.”

Typically local councillors are trying to claim this as their victory.  For more details click here>>
