Following confusion as to whether residents can access Josephine Avenue via Arodene Road we asked Councillor Ben Kind to clarify:
“Installation of the Arodene Road LTN filter was delayed because of local feedback – including from businesses on Brixton Hill who need access to the parking and loading bays there. Lambeth Council is exploring installing the filter further along Arodene Road towards the junction with Helix Road. As no traffic signs/LTN filter are in place, Arodene Road remains open to through traffic at present.
Responsible drivers are aware that they should always comply with the requirements of road signs (whether that is speed limit signs, the restrictions on using bus lanes or the “no motor vehicle” signs used for the LTN filters). As everyone travelling around our local area will note, the five LTN filters installed in the Tulse Hill LTN are all clearly marked by the legally required “no motor traffic” signs. Those not complying with road traffic rules/signs leave themselves open to enforcement action by the Metropolitan Police, Transport for London or Lambeth Council depending on who has the relevant authority.”
In other words, until the signs go up, residents are allowed to use Arodene Road.
