This year’s Josephine Avenue Group AGM at the Effra Social on Tuesday proved to be one of the busiest yet with many new attendees, plus local Councillors and long time supporters. Topics discussed included Urban Art (with representation from the local schools who benefit from the event), the proposed new pedestrian crossing on Brixton Water Lane, the 2014 Street Party, Bins and Street Parking.
Residents also thanked Tim Fairhurst and Emmanuel Parrenin who both stood down as Chair and Treasurer (the position of Secretary had been vacant). The new committee of Tim Sutton (Chair), Hillary Box (Treasurer) and Marion Woodward (Secretary) were then voted in.
Probably one of the most important decisions of the evening was a motion proposed by Garry Turnbull to donate £2,000 to the Philippines Crisis Appeal. This was seconded and passed by all present.
Finalised copies of the minutes will be available next week under the ‘Member’s Area’ on the JAG web site. Printed copies also available on request.
Next meeting January 21st 2014. See notice boards and this web site for details.
