The AGM of the Herne Hill Forum, to be held on April 24th, will be devoted to the topic of the ‘future of our high street’. This will take place at 7.00pm Herne Hill Baptist Church, Half Moon Lane (corner of Half Moon Lane and Winterbrook).
Traders are worried about their future and with Tescos moving in alongside Sainsbury’s will Herne Hill become just another clone town or will the addition of the multiples help the local economy?
Also with the proposed redevelopment of the Half Moon Pub this may remove the major music venue that it has become and greatly affect the local area.
Present will be Jackie Meldrum (deputy leader of Lambeth Council), Liz Ablett (Tescos), Fiona Colley and Alistair Huggett (Southwark Council), Luke Hilyard (Stop Tesco campaign), Emily Berwyn (Meanwhile Project), Therese Stowell (Local Greens).
