Our local Tulse Hill Cressingham Gardens, London SW2 2QN, will be taking part in this year’s Open House London event 21st and 22nd September. This innovative low-rise leafy estate was designed by architect Ted Hollamby and was built between 1967 ant 1978. It is located next to our beautiful Brockwell Park and noted for its pioneering architectural elements which echo the natural topography.
Guided walks are conducted on a regular basis Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm and include both the rotunda and private homes. These tours start at the central rotunda and are available on a first come first serve basis.
(This may be your last chance to view this pioneering piece of architecture as Lambeth Council are planning a partial or full demolition of the site. See www.savecressinghamgardens.co.uk for details.)
