BrixtonBuzz reports that Brockwell Park is likely to be part of the first major experiment of the “Cooperative” Council. Lambeth hope to slash their parks budget by over half during the next five years by match funding only £9 million in the hope that local communities will start running their own green spaces and find the remaining £9 million that will be needed.
If this works, it is likely that other services will go the same way and the community will be increasingly asked to help if they want similar services to continue.
