Our local boozer is featured in this week’s Brixton Blog. Here’s what they have to say…
The Space
A recently refurbished, high ceilinged space with lots of tables and a few sofas to mooch about on.
The Punters
During the week it’s a diverse bunch of mostly Brixton Hill locals. At the weekend they give way to a rampant crowd of local tourists – expect Friday and Saturday night frottage.
The Booze
One or two ales and some fancy lagers, both bottled and on tap. There’s also a long old wine list and some pretty delicious cocktails.
The Grub
Great pub grub. The £12 steak is a great value meal that’s difficult to beat. The Sunday roasts are also tasty and worthy checking out. Get there early though – they’re very popular.
The Damage
A pint is about £4 and up and dinner is on average about £9-£10 a main course.
An Interesting Fact
The White Horse is now painted completely black.
The Highlights
Great value food and a really friendly relaxed atmosphere during the week.
What’s a bit rubbish
Friday and Saturday night. Unless of course, you like gyrating your way around strangers…
What else they got in the bag?
They seem to very occasionally have live music on a Sunday afternoon. There are DJs spinning disco, garage, house, pop and just about every single type of music you can imagine on Friday and Saturday night.
To sum it up…
A relaxing chair which turns into a pit of flames at the weekends.
